Apartment Review for Orange Bay Apartments - Costa Mesa, CA

I moved into this apartment when I moved down to Orange County from LA, and I chose it almost exclusively on the basis of location. And location-wise, you just can't get do better in this part of OC. Within minutes I can be on the freeway heading in any direction, or at the beach. I can walk to the bank, gym, great coffee shops, and three different markets including a Trader Joe's and local produce market. Yet the complex itself isn't on a busy thoroughfare like Newport or E. 17th, it's set off so that when you close your door, you'd hardly know how centrally located you are. Everything Else: The apartment's a good size, with an open layout that makes it seem even bigger. The complex stays cool during the summers, and even though there's no A/C, you get a nice coastal breeze. I've had maintenance issues, but they were always taken care of within a day or two. There are occasional parties on Friday or Saturday nights, and if you live on the first floor you can hear your upstairs neighbor if they get loud, and because it's a courtyard complex, you tend to see and hear more of your neighbors than you might be used to, but people are always considerate and I've never had any major issues. The one thing I won't miss is lugging my laundry down to the washer/dryer room in the parking garage. Everything else, though, I expect to look back on fondly when I make the inevitable move back to LA.
