Apartment Review
RUN FOR THE HILLS! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
Review Date: 11/2/2006
Reviewer: Anonymous

I moved in, in August of 2006. I have continually had not 1,2,3,4,5,6, or 7 problems. I'd count 15 and the list is growing.

Upon move in our apartment obviously wasn't cleaned...so guess what...I'm going to be a slob before I move out and make sure it is in the same condition as I found it in. The counters were thick and literally sticky with god knows what all over them.

Red wine or blood stains on the carpet. Old carpet.

There were black curly hairs painted into my walls...i kid you not.

Lineouleum is/was peeling off of the floor.

Balcony was disgusting.

Cat hair and piss.

OLD MOLDY FRIDGE!

LEAKY OLD MOLDY FRIDGE!

YELLOW AND PINK MILDEW BUILDUP ON THE DOORS THAT OVEN CLEANER WOULDN'T TAKE OFF!

I FINALLY CONVINCED THEM TO REPLACE ONE SET OF DOORS...It only took 3 mos.

When we signed our lease our price included a garage. As soon as we signed and gave them our $2800.00 for move in, pet deposit, etc. They told us we didn't have a garage. Like poof is disappeared. And their explanation literally was that someone had colored outside the lines of the "MAGICAL" parking book...give me a break. It's November and no garage.

They now tell Resident's including myself that they are going to "demolish the tennis courts and put in more parking"...nice...too bad I see more tennis players out there than I see Security guards year round.

My sister comes @ 6Am to visit me. She parks her car in VISITOR PARKING. We walk by her car in stride @ 12 noon. We come back @ 1:00 PM and her car is gone. After $195.00 and the biggest asshole towing people we find out they are trying to tell us her car was towed @ 6:45 AM...ah hem...yah right. Then they literally infront of us changed the time to 11:45 as the tow time...even though we saw the car there @ 12 noon. Then when I was the biggest jerk b/c I had to be...the management told me that they were going to do me a favor and "refund my sister the 195.00" after she missed work, money outta her pocket...and all for parking in the RIGHT SPOT! OH my gosh. They then tell me that they were going to take $195.00 off of my rent. Are you kidding me? I had to tell them that I am not the Villa Venetia bank and just because you give me 195.00 off of my $1900.00 rent...doesn't mean I am going to turn around and refund my sister for your sorry ass mistake.

Then I have the total bong tokin' alcholics living below me. They smoke weed, drink, party and are so loud each and every night. It's ridiculous. They literally sit there with their blinds and window's open and hit the bong...do that shit with your window's closed. Come on.

Furthermore the bong tokers find it funny to cuss and scream at my dog to make him go bezerk! So then they are throwing chocolate chip cookies and pop tarts up to my dog...it's ridiculous. It's not like i'm in a NON PET building...I'm in a pet building.

I finally spoke to someone literally yesterday that actually helped me...i was shocked. But I'm not going to be holding my breath.

Parking here is the biggest joke I've encountered. I think that the point of having a parking spot is that so you can find one. Heaven forbid that you have a guest come and see you. You the tenant have to go find a spot in siberia or keep a look out for when someone leaves to take their spot, then leave your covered parking spot and give them your covered one. But good luck going to the office to get a guest parking permit.

In order to do that you need to come to the office when they are actually open. Most people hours of business are pretty solid...not theirs. I have waited 2 hours no kidding and i give up and tell my friends to park @ Vons. They are never there. They'll return your call at (this has really happened to me @ 4:56 PM) and ask you to call them back! Who is really home @ 5:00...or by 5:30 for that matter on a weekday. THey don't do service orders on the weekends...so you hafta wait around for the contractors during your work week...i.e losing money that you need to pay rent!

The only thing I like about this place is the gym I get to use...if it's free. Now they are telling me the 24 FREE GYM you hafta get a $25.00 swipey to get in...not so free is it? But I enjoy the jacuzzi b/c I see them clean it...makes me feel a little better about it. It helps me relax from all the drama and problems i have with the community.

All in all...I should have stayed at the place I was at. It wasn't the greatest but I was paying 1/2 the price and I was somewhat happy.

REALLY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Or do you own survey. Knock on a resident's door and ask them what they like and dislike about the place...be sure to give yourself some time...
