Apartment Review for Villa Venetia - Costa Mesa, CA

I have been at Villa Venetia for a year and a half. I pay $1300 for a one bedroom apartment. I have no problem paying this price assuming it was comparable to other apartments in the complex. 2 months after re-signing my lease, the apartment directly underneath me (exact same layout) was rented for over $200 less than mine. When I contacted the complex to attempt some sort of deal I was denied any solution (i.e. re-signing for another year from that point, etc.). There was simpy "nothing they could do". When myself and another renter attempted to upgrade to a 2 bedroom from our one bedrooms (once again, re-signing, giving Villa an entire year commitment), we were told it would be $2,000.00 while another renter less than a year ago DOWNSIZED his apartment for $500. When this was brought up I was told "The price has gone up". When my ancient oven was stuck on (the dial had broke) and I called emergency maintenance because the Villa office often turns off their phones during the day due to "busyiness", it took over 2 hours for maintenance to respond. I almost called the fire department because it was so hot that the dial on my oven had melted. They solved this ancient oven problem by replacing them melted dial with another from an old oven they had. I mean...it's not like this is a "safety issue" right' I won't even touch on the ridiculous parking situation either. In my year and a half of living here I have been denied a guest parking pass every single time I've requested one. My guests park at CVS and walk to the complex. I pay my rent on time every month, I do not complain, I paid my pet deposit and have never had a complaint. I am a good tenant that cannot wait until my lease is up so I can move out of here.
